Holiday to Praslin in the Seychelles islands
April 26-29, 2003
Are you looking for information on Praslin island? In this section of travel-tour-guide.com you will find details on the most important attractions on Praslin that shouldn't be missed, like the unique Valle De Mai forest hosting the Coco de Mer palm tree (symbol of Seychelles), or the wonderful Anse Lazio beach with its super fine white sand. All is documented with lot of photos.
The day trip in Praslin starts with a short bus ride to Vallee De Mai, a national forest on Praslin declared by UNESCO as world's heritage site. Here is the only place where the Coco de Mer palm grows, producing heart shaped fruits.
Picture of Coco de Mer palm tree with its huge leave.
Photos of Coco De Mer fruits, still not heart shaped, because too young.
Hiking the Vallee De Mai forest on Praslin.
The Coco De Mer leaves are huge and sized several meters.
The day continues with a bus ride to Anse Lazio, a beautiful white sand beach on Praslin.
Photos of Praslin and Anse Lazio beach. The sand is very soft and extremely white.
This white sand beach is also very wide with lot of room for the people coming here. In my opinion, this is the most beautiful beach through Alphonse, Mahe, La Digue, Bird Island and Praslin.
Huge granitic stones stay on the sides of the beach.
It is very relaxing to law down on the sand between the stones.
A panoramic view of Anse Lazio beach from one end.
A giant bat.
Bus transportation on Praslin. I finally go back to my hotel by public bus, a convenient way to move around in Praslin.
Once back at the hotel, I enjoy taking pictures of some wild flowers.
From left to right: a cinnamon tree, a papaya and a strange trees with fruits growing directly on its trunk.
Other beautiful wild flower and, on the top-right picture, a mango-tree.
