Bird eating a rat

We are witnessing a hunting scene starring a bird not really nice: it first studies his victim (a small mouse), then catch it up with lightning speed, before swallowing it in a whole. Analogously to the snakes, you see the meal moving into the esophagus of the predator while the swallows.
Monitor lizard
A large monitor lizard is basking under a pale sun.
Vervet monkey Moneky
Lake Manyara is also populated by the vervet monkey, a primate whose adult weight varies from 4 to 6 pounds.
Buffalo Herd of buffalo

Wildebeests
Analogously to the buffalo, wildebeest also take advantage of the abundance in this period of the year around Lake Manyara.
Male antelopes
In the meanwhile, two large males of antelope compete for a group of females.
Worthog Worthogs
There are of course the clumsy warthog, an animal that we find everywhere during the safari in Tanzania.

After the safari to Lake Manyara, we head to the tented camp of Kirurumu for overnight stay at a nice place having a panoramic view over the savannah.
