Excursion to the gentoo penguin colony on Bleaker Island
A full day to explore Bleaker Island, the Gentoo penguin colony and the beautiful Sandy Bay beach, made of incredibly bright white sand, where I meet even more penguins.
I hike north on Bleaker Island to visit a gentoo penguin colony, less than one hour away from the cottage. The landscape is still made of quite flat hills and low shrubs.

As said before, Bleaker island is still an active sheep farm.
I finally arrive at the gentoo penguin colony, where there are about 1000 penguins.
