18/10/2006
Full day excursion from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine national park and Grey lake in Patagonia. Photos of Torres del Paine and Grey lake with its icebergs.
The day tour in Patagonia begins driving to Milodon Cave, here the scenery that you can see all around.
Inside the Milodon cave, the remains of several extints animals were found. These remains are now stored in different museums all over the world.
A replica of one of the animals living here up to about 10000 years ago.
This area is particularly interesting for birdwatching, as there are many species which can be seen only here.
The Devil Rock.
The trip continues to Torres del Paine national park, where, already quite far away, I get beautiful views of the "towers".
Inside the parks there are about 4000 vicunas.
Other views on the towers, from inside Torres del Paine (top) and from the airplane (left).
Nice lakes in Torres del Paine National Park with unusual colors due to minerals transported by streams and glaciers.
The typical vegetation of Torres del Paine.
The yellow plant (vischum) is a parassite growing on trees. It is used for Christmas decorations in several countries of the world.
