Beaches and malls in Dubai
Are you looking for information about what to see in Dubai? Dubai, in the Emirates, is a fast growing destination, featuring largest malls of the world, tallest building, nice beaches and other attractions that may be visited also during a long stopover waiting for a connecting flight.
Although Dubai is known for its biggest shopping malls and tallest construction in the world, the city can be considered also by those who want a bit of relax on some beach, usually located just in front of the city. In these photos, Al Mamzar Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Dubai and can be reached by a short taxi drive from most hotels in the downtown.
The Dubai Metro runs partly underground and partly on an elevated line that crosses longitudinally the entire modern districts of the city, connecting the airport to the malls, to Burj Khalifa and to the main hotels.

Which is the highest skyscraper in the world?
With its 828 meters and a total of 163 floors, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is the tallest skyscraper in the world, as well as the tallest structure ever built by humans (2014). Among the attractions in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa is probably one of the most popular, as the viewing platforms at different heights, offer spectacular views.
Where is the biggest mall in the world?
The largest mall in the world is located in Dubai, at least according to the time of writing of this travelogue (2014). The Dubai Mall, houses around 1,200 stores spread over a total area of 420,000 square meters, where visitors will also find lot of restaurants and additional attractions designed to entertain before or after shopping. The Dubai Mall is located in the center of Dubai and is easily accessible by Metro.

Inside the Dubai Mall, the famous largest mall in the world, there is an aquarium (Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo) that entered the Guinness Book of World Records, because built using acrylic glass panels having a width of 750mm, capable to resist to the pressure produced by 10 million liters of water.
The Dubai Aquarium, hosted inside the Dubai Mall, is home to over 33,000 marine species including fish, corals, invertebrates and other creatures. A tunnel allows to better explore it, but, despite the access is allowed only upon the payment of a ticket, there are definitely too many tourists.
The Dubai Mall hosts also a large dino skeleton.

Another important shopping center in Dubai, is the Mall of the Emirates, a large facility that houses more than 700 shops and other attractions inside an area of 220,000 square meters. The Mall of the Emirates is located in the suburbs much farther from the Dubai Mall, but is easily accessible by metro.
The most famous attraction in the Mall of the Emirates is probably the Ice Palace (Ski Dubai), a large facility with artificial ice and snow, maintained permanently at 2 degrees below zero.
Visitors of the Ice Palace in Dubai, may go snowboarding or get skiing lessons. The ski slope, about 400 meters long, has a lift and all the gear, including clothing, is provided upon payment of the ticket.
For children, but not only, Ski Dubai offers various games on the snow.
For those who are interested in, Ski Dubai offers the opportunity to roll down a slope inside a ball.

Burj Al Arab is considered the most luxurious hotel in the world and a landing platform on the roof, lets to get here by helicopter. Tours in the hotel are available upon the payment of a ticket.
