Snorkeling excursion by boat from Thudufushi
Most maldivian resorts offer snorkeling excursions by boat to reefs that can't be reached from the beach. Thudufushi is of course no exception, so I take a couple of snorkeling trips to nearby thila (a kind of underwater island) where I can spot additional species of fish and enjoy different underwater landscape.
The group leaves Thudufushi by dhoni (the typical maldivian boat) bound for a nearby thila for additional snorkeling. What is a thila?
A thila is an underwater island, whose rocks and corals are extended up to water line.
The thila, as explained an underwater island, is now in sight. Here, the snorkelling trip starts.

After about one hour of snorkeling, we climb on the dhoni in order to return to Thudufushi.
